The first products rolling around will revolve around Digital Video Conversion and video processing. The first board will be a Digital to Analog video bridge board.

The board is based on two core components but ultimately, the firmware is user updatable. The RP2350 is used for firmware and can be updated easily by pressing one button when connecting the board for USB-C power.

  • Can recieve RGB, YUV422, YUV444 color space digital video sources
  • Outputs VGA or YPbPr analog video. Switchable on the fly.
  • Compatible with MisterFPGA and direct video modes
  • The video output type can be adjusted with a switch
  • Low-Pass Filter bypass can be turned on/off with a switch
  • Possibility but not a guarantee that it could work as a DAC for Analogue consoles. Evaluation pending.

This is a product specifically engineered to address several shortcomings in the retro community for digital to analog converters unable to handle non-standard video resolutions. After the core functionality is verified, it will enter production immediately and will be available for order on the store.

The second digital video product is shown below for the Digital Video Modification board.

One output will be 1440x240P video resolution directly out of the FPGA with audio. It is a bonus output that can be used with 4K video processors or DACs such as the one above to get analog video for a CRT. The other output going to the transmitter will be 1080P.

The following handhelds are planned for support:

  • Neo Geo Pocket Color
  • Gameboy Color
  • Gameboy Advanced
  • PSP-1000

J6 is an adaptable entry port where any 24 bit digital video stream can enter the FPGA and be framebuffered/processed. Livescaling is also possible for some video sources. This is where subcarrier cards would connect to this master card. Below is a photo of a development board build.

Plastic housing or cases must be purchased seperately from other vendors. Ascendance Systems will not be providing cases. STEP files will be posted to github.

The Digital Video Modification board will be available at the end of Summer 2026.
